The Wonderful World Of Jimm …

Where to start *strokes beard* …

…. Well, basically, my names James, but please, call me Jimm. I’m 20 years of age, 21 in July (I expect cards people!). This is me …

… I was born and bred in Birmingham England … possibly the greyest place I’ve ever been too.

I have amazing family, I’m a total mothers boy and I wouldn’t be who I am without her, my dad and I have a rocky relationship but we love each other and I guess thats what counts.

My life revolves around music, listening, writing, playing, I do it all whenever possible, I haven’t gone longer than about 3 hours without listening to music, I literally cannot live without it.

I play guitar, I’m in a couple of bands (A Beautiful Retribution & Imminent Downfall) and I’m also in the process of writing my own solo stuff, it’ll be along the lines of City and Colour and Jack Johnson but with influences from David Gilmour and Eric Clapton thrown in.

For tech heads out there, I play an Epiphone Les Paul Custom In Alpine White, Through A Boss MT-2, Boss CH-1 and a Morley Power Wah into a Peavey VK100 head and currently any Cab I can beg, borrow or steal. I have an Epiphone Explorer and a Jackson KVX10FR as backup guitars.

For my solo stuff I’ve been using a custom Telecaster, but I’m retiring that and getting an acoustic as it doesn’t give me the sound I want. I’ll still use it for solo’s until I manage to get an ESP LTD M-103

Anyway. I’m really lucky to have some brilliant friends where I live. These people mean the world to me, they always have and they always will, I’d do anything for them …

If it weren’t for these people, well, I wouldn’t be typing this out. I love them, end of.

I work full time for a company call reapit. I love my job, my work mates are awesome and I get on well with alot of our clients. I’m too laid back to care about the ones I don’t like.

I guess I’m just gunna copy and paste the bit from my myspace now to sum this up….

I’m Jimm, I Have A Job, I Make Noise, I Have Awesome Friends, I Live For Music, I Love Jagermeister, I Like Hugs, I’m A Fucking Tank.

That Is All.

  1. Well - lookee there! I’m not sure I know ALL about you, but this is certainly a good start! I mean- of course I know to click on the blue names!! LOL! And how nice to see you are a musician AND a very happy purrson AND just a babbee kitteh! May I tell kitsunarina? I think she’s 20 as well. We’ve several of you yung’uns, akshullee - but most of us ar - well - somewhat - older!!
I myself was a music major in college - and also cannot even begin to imagine a life without music!

Nice to meet you, Jimmm!! Hope you stick around for a long time.

  4. Hello Jimm,
My Cheezy friend with the great taste in music! I am genuine antique material but since I’m only here for the friends & word games, what does it matter? And…. I don’t care if my friends are purple with blue spots and worship parking meters, as long as they’re good people.

Mr. Pjammie likes playing his Lowden with a LLBaggs iBeam through a nice little AER. It keeps the acoustic sound very pure & clean. The Lowden is pre-Avalon Debacle, so it’s quite sweet. (wow, doesn’t it sound as if I almost know what I’m talking about? … ahh, the life of being #! fan and roadie). I’ll raise you a Leo Kottke to your John Renbourn… runs off lol-ing…..

  5. Hi Jimm,
WOW!!! You certainly know who you are.MUCHOS RESPECT!!!
It’s not often a guy of your generation will admit to loving his Mum & Dad :) and his mates. Way to go Jimm!! Wish my Angsty daughter would be a bit more positive like you-She likes the same music as you-well some anyway.
Great to have another English peep on ICHC.The English Male perspective had been somewhat deficient!!
    Tidmum-aka Claire :)

  6. I have built several Telecasters over the past few years and when you find the right piece of tone-wood (swamp alder is good) it’s magic. Hook it up with a couple of old humbuckin pickups and a twin reverb amp and you’ll sound like a rocker no matter wut. So I’ll see yer Leo Kotke (a genius) and John Renbourne and raise you an Adrian Legg:
